Dr Mary Slater PhD, BSc (Nutrition & Dietetics)(Hons), Grad Dip (Health Promotion), B Dietetics (UP)

Dr Mary Slater Dr Mary Slater is the owner of NOURISH Nutrition.Health.Fitness and an Accredited Practising Dietitian with over 10 years experience. Dr Mary Slater holds a PhD in her specialist area of the dietary management of chronic disease and the metabolic syndrome. She also has experience in dealing with people struggling with eating disorders and other disordered eating patterns. She has held a research fellowship position at Curtin University of Technology for 3 years and also lectured on behalf of their Nutrition and Dietetics Department. Mary is a qualified personal trainer and group fitness instructor and has worked in the fitness industry for over 8 years. Mary is also a qualified sports dietitian and has consulted to several of Perth’s elite sports teams, including the Perth Glory Football Team and Football West.

 

 

 

 

Kirsty Scott BSc (Nutrition & Food Science) (Hons), Grad Dip Diet

 Kirsty ScottKirsty Scott is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who holds an honours degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Curtin University of Technology. She is currently working as a research dietitian at The University Department of Medicine at Royal Perth Hospital in the area of chronic disease management. Kirsty’s extensive research experience has provided her with expert knowledge on how to reduce cardiovascular disease risk through dietary modification and lifestyle changes. Kirsty is a recreational athlete who competes regularly in triathlons across Perth. She is also currently completing her qualification in gym instruction and personal training.

 

Nicola Holmes BSc (Nutrition & Food Science) (Hons), Grad Dip Diet, PhD Candidate

Nicola Holmes Nicola Holmes is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who is currently completing her PhD in sports nutrition with a specific focus on hydration testing in endurance athletes. She has been involved in elite level sport for several years, competing in national level swimming and also competing at the 2004 Australian Olympic swimming trials. Nicola now competes regularly in triathlons and completed the 2006 Rottnest channel swim solo crossing. Nicola has had extensive experience providing nutritional advice to endurance athletes in sports such as swimming, triathlon, rowing and adventure racing. Nicola also provides nutrition support to companies ranging from offshore mining to large scale manufacturers in the United Arab Emirates. She also works within the Nutrition and Dietetics department at Curtin University of Technology.

 

  

 

 

 

Annette Wong BSc (Nutrition) (Hons), PhD candidate

 Annette Wong is an accredited practicing dietitian who holds a Bachelor of Science (Nutrition (Honours) from the University of Sydney, NSW.  She is currently completing a PhD at University of Western Australia at the Royal Perth Hospital Unit.  Her research studies weight loss and chronic cardiovascular disease.  Along with her previous dietetics experience with The Cancer Council and Diabetes Australia, she is experienced in diabetes care, cholesterol management, food allergies and weight management. 

 

 

 

 

 

Tony de Graaf Wellness Coach and Lead Personal Trainer at Evolve Health

Tony de Graaf is the director of Evolve Health and works in alongside NOURISH Nutrition.Health.Fitness to assist you in achieving your health and fitness goals. With over ten years working in the health and fitness industry, Tony is passionate about getting you on track with your health and wellness. Nine years in the Australian Army followed by five years working in the fitness industry abroad gives Tony both the perspective and experience to guide you to health success. His qualifications include CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Level 2 Wellness Coach, Cross Fit Trainer, Sub Unit Physical Training Instructor (Australian Army), Metabolic Jumpstart Certified Coach and corporate presenter.

 

 

 

Danay Savva Clinical Psychologist BsocSci (Hons) Mpsych (Clinical)

DanayDanay is a Clinical Psychologist who completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology in 2001 at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. She subsequently completed a Master of Psychology (Clinical) in 2004 at the Curtin University of Technology in Perth. Danay completed her Master’s thesis in the area of adolescent OCD. OCD is an area of particular interest to her. She has worked both in private practice and within the health department, as part of the Transition Program at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Danay has extensive experience working with adults in a number of areas including depression, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, adjustment, trauma, eating disorders, and conflict management. Part of Danay’s role is to assist others to better understand their perceptions, emotions and behaviours within the framework of their contextual circumstances; thereby supporting them to adopt more helpful and constructive thoughts and attitudes, behaviours, responses and interaction styles. Danay is currently a consultant for NOURISH and works from her offices located at 7/37 Cedric Street, Stirling.
